Private Pay
Choosing to privately pay for mental health services is a personal, financial, and privileged decision. There are some benefits of private pay such as not needing a mental health diagnosis, increased privacy and confidentiality within limits of the law, access to longer sessions, and other services that insurance may not cover.

People who choose private pay to cover therapy will be provided a Good Faith Estimate as required of the No Surprises Act which came into effect 01/01/2022. This estimate details the cost, type, and frequency of services provided in a 12 month period. It is provided at least one day in advance of any scheduled services received from Duluth Perinatal.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate you can file a dispute. Please make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information or questions please visit www.CMS.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
